County and interim EMS chief reach terms

Emergency Medical Services Interim Director Ed Debesis and agreed to the temporary terms he will work under with the Marion County Commission Thurs?day, Dec. 31, in payday meeting.

Debesis also serves with EMS at Hoisington. The commissioners hope that while working part-time here he can help improve the department until a full-time director is hired.

After executive session with Debesis, Commission?ers Randy Dallke and Lori Lalouette approved 2-0 paying him $25 an hour with a maximum of 40 hours weekly.

Commission Chairman Dan Holub was absent.

County Clerk Tina Spencer said the total payday figure was $796,346 which included a payroll of $408,301.28.

She said regular sales tax for October received from the state by the county in December was $60,994 while the special jail tax was $53,226.

The commissioners approved a road and bridge area fuel bid of $7,591.50 for 5,300 gallons of diesel from Cardie Oil Inc. of Tampa over a competitive bid of $7,713.40 from Cooperative Grain & Supply of Hillsboro.
