n Hillsboro High School senior Nicholas Mueller is one of 70 high school students to be selected for a four-year, full-tuition engineering scholarship at Wichita State University. One hundred fifty prospective students vied for $500,000 in scholarship at the Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering in November 2008.

n Justin Garrard, a Centre High School alum from Lincoln?ville, and Ryan Janzen, an HHS alum, were recognized for making the dean?s list at Ottawa University this academic year.

n Kristine K. Goza, HHS class of 1986, graduated May 16 from Emporia State Univer?sity with a bachelor of science degree in sociology, with a minor in ethnic and gender studies.

n Emily Ratzlaff Arnold, HHS class of 2005, received the Out?standing Senior Award from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the recognition ceremony May 17 for the Univer?sity of Kansas School of Engineering.
