Centre High FFA competed at the Poultry, Entomology, and Food Science Career Develop?ment Events Feb. 4 in Marion.
In Poultry Judging, A-team members Allison Shields, Josh Leach, Jared Diepenbrock and Katie Remy finished fourth.
B-Team members Cole Svoboda, Canh Antoszyk, Brian Burhoop and Amanda Floyd, won the competition, said Gaea Wimmer, Centre High agricultural education instructor.
The A- and B-teams, she said, also competed for individual awards. Allison Shields placed ninth, Canh Antoszyk, seventh and Cole Svoboda, fifth.
The freshmen team of Shane Methvin, Trevor Hageberg, Dani Spohn, Kordell Harding, Zach Calvert and Cassandra Dones placed sixth. Methvin took first and Dones eighth individually.
Other poultry participants were Tori Marler, Casey Kristek, Adam Matz, Benjamin Wirtz, Alex Hajek, Tanner Brunner, Trevor Troutt, Ripley Howard, Nikki Pitocnick, Tulsa Rosenow and Josh Olsen.
The Entomology CDE involved insect identification and a knowledge test. The freshmen team finished first with four members in the top 10: Methvin, first, Calvert, fourth, Dones, eighth, Spohn, ninth. Hageberg and Harding also participated
The Food Science CDE team included Diepenbrock, Derek Calvert, Seth Stroda, Zach Anto?szyk, Heath Hill, Stephen Kaiser, Brian Burhoop and Brunner.
The event consisted of a general food science test, aroma test, triangle test and food safety test.
