Law enforcement officers and onlookers watch as a professional from Auto House Towing prepares to move a car from the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Main last Tuesday. The storefront for the CenturyLink office sustained minor damage when it was struck by the car, which jumped the curb. Vada Reimer of Hillsboro said she was attempting to back out of a parking space in front of the building when the car?s transmission malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to jump the curb and crash into the front of the CenturyLink building at 129 N. Main St. According to information provided by the Hillsboro Police Department, Reimer said when she first tried to back out, the car was going too fast, so she drove the 2010 Red MKX Lincoln forward again to pull back into the parking space but it lunged forward ?very fast? and she was unable to stop it before it struck the building. Reimer was not injured.
