The city has its power through a contract with Westar.
Doug Kjellin, economic development director, reported he, Mayfield and Harvey Sanders, public works, attended a KMEA meeting in Emporia.

Both Mayfield and Kjellin believe it will take time and planning to make a good electrical contract decision.
The Westar contract ends in 2010.
