Area fire departments, Marion County 4-H benefit from $5,444 gift

CGSdonationFireDeptsThree area fire departments and the Marion County 4-H Endowment will benefit from donations received Aug. 5 totaling $5,444 from Cooperative Grain & Supply and Land O?Lakes Foundation. Each of the fire departments received a check for $1,600 with the remaining $644 going to the Marion County 4-H Endowment Fund. Land O?Lakes Foundation matches the donations of participating cooperatives dollar-for-dollar to support local community projects. CG&S, with headquarters in Hillsboro, has grain elevators in each of the three communities. Now in its 11th year with the program, CG&S and Land O?Lakes Foundation have combined for more than $52,000 in contributions to local projects, institutions and organizations.
