Two Hillsboro people were injured when their car traveling east on 150th met another vehicle coming over a hill westbound near the intersection of Falcon Road and 150th at about 10 a.m. Aug. 18.

The injured driver was Fern Bartel, 59, and the passenger was Isabelle Houben, 15.

According to Marion County Sheriff Rob Craft, the accident happened when Bartel, driving a 1995 Chrysler, steered too far to the right after meeting the westbound car, went back across the roadway and flipped on its top.

?Because there was no contact and the second car didn?t cause the accident, no information was available for it,? Craft said Monday.

Two Marion County ambulances were called to the scene and both Bartel and Houben were taken to Hillsboro Com?munity Hospital. Bartel was transferred to St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

According to hospital officials, both Bartel and Houben were treated and released the same day.

In addition to Marion County Deputy Jim Philpott and EMS personnel responding, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper and Hillsboro Fire Department personnel also were at the scene.
