Former Tabor College standout Martin de Boer recently signed to play basketball professionally with a team in The Netherlands provincial capital of Rotterdam.

De Boer transferred to Tabor from Cloud County Community College in fall 2004 and made a huge impact on the 2005 Bluejays.

Standing 6 feet, 7 inches, de Boer led the team in rebounding, averaging more than five per game and was the squad?s third-leading scorer, averaging over 10 points.

TC adds two for track and tennis

Two in-state athletes have signed letters to run for Tabor College this next year.

Brock Fosnight is a 6-foot-3, 150-pound runner from Goddard High School who posted times of 54.6 seconds in the 400 meters and 2:10.5 in the 800. He also ran with 4×400 and 4x800m relay teams for the Ark Valley League Division II league champions in 2006.

?He will help us in the 400 meters and 800 meters,? said Dave Kroeker, head track coach. ?He will also be a great asset to our campus.?

Chad Newhard has been hired as head baseball coach at Tabor College. Newhard will also serve as an instructor in physical education. Newhard brings eight years of college coaching experience to Tabor. The Tabor College has signed five more athletes for its football program. Timothy Sheppard of Houston, Texas, is a 6-feet, 200-pound linebacker who played for Madison High School, which posted a 14-1 record and qualified for the state semifinals. ?Timothy will be competing at an outside linebacker position,? With the addition of special-teams co-coordinator Edward King, the Tabor College football coaching staff is now in place.

Head coach Mike Gottsch describes King as someone with ?great character? who will ?make an immediate impact on the lives of students.?

The Bluejays? newest addition will coach defensive line and outside linebackers as well as serving as special teams co-coordinator.

The Tabor College Athletic Department has announced the signing of additional athletes for the new school year.<p>Jason Aubrey, Bartlesville, Okla., has signed to participate in football. He will transfer from Emporia State University.<p>According to Mike Gottsch, Bluejay head coach, Aubrey was ?an exceptional passing quarterback? at Bartlesville High School.<p>?He is very competitive and will bring solid leadership qualities to the team,? Women?s basketball?Brianne Greene of Littleton, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to participate in women?s basketball at Tabor College for the 2007-2008 season.
