4-H clubs in Marion County will benefit from a three-way equal split of a recent $2,000 donation by Flint Hills Rural Electric Cooperative Association made in partnership with CoBank, a national cooperative bank.
4-H clubs in Morris and Chase counties also will participate in the split, which comes to about $666 per county.
Flint Hills RECA chose to donate to local 4-H clubs to help club members pay their way to the Rock Springs summer camp. Flint Hills has been a supporter of local 4-H clubs for many years.
?We know that young people who participate in 4-H programs will likely contribute to their communities in the future,? Bob Reece, Flint Hills general manager, said. ?We are proud to support the local 4-H clubs that include so many of our local youth.?
This is Flint Hills? fourth year participating in the CoBank Sharing Success matching-funds program. The program is designed to highlight the critical role that cooperatives play in rural communities.
