Auctioneer Larry Carr of Carr Auction & Real Estate Inc., Larned, makes one last call for a higher bid to purchase the former McDonald?s building on East D Street in Hillsboro last Thursday forenoon. Around 50 people attended the sale, but most as spectators. The bidding quickly came down to bidders, each of which reportedly was interested in using the building for a dining enterprise. The winning bid of $69,000 was made by a representative of a national restaurant chain, according to reliable sources. The identity of the buyer was not made public; the acquisition is expected to close by the end of the calendar year.
