USD?410 BOE adopts budget, master contract for 2013-14

Board of Education for Unified School District 410 approved the 2013-14 budget and master contract at its regular meeting June 10.

The master contract includes the following:

? 1.65 percent wage increases for current employees hired on or before Oct. 1, 2012;

? 1.45 percent salary increases for administrators, plus elimination of personal leave beginning fiscal year 2014;

? 1.65 percent salary increases for FACT director and PAT coordinator contracts, plus elimination of personal leave beginning fiscal year 2014;

? a health insurance contribution equivalent to a $1,000 deductible single coverage premium for eligible employees.

The board met in executive session twice?once to discuss negotiations and then to discuss matters of personnel.

In other business, the board:

? approved the 2013-14 building handbooks;

? approved the 2013-14 revised school and preschool calendars;

? approved purchasing a 2014 Suburban for $36,797 from Midway Motors in Hillsboro;

? approved a copier agreement for 360 Document Solutions.

? approved resignation of Carmen Jones as parent educator with Parents as Teachers;

? approved issuing a contract to Dawn Clark as Family Consumer Science teacher;

? approved supplemental contracts for Clark as FCCLA sponsor, Erin Carr as Hillsboro Middle School head girls? basketball coach, and Stephanie Sinclair as HMS head volleyball coach.

? approved work agreements for Esther Blecha as Hillsboro Elementary School custodian, Mike Woelk as district mechanic/bus driver, and Deloris Hiebert as English for Speakers of Other Languages aide.

? approved summer positions for Dustin Dalke in maintenance, Len Coryea as a painter, and Dennis Boldt as technology assistant.
