Each June, as part of ?Business Appreciation Month,? KDOC recognizes businesses for contributions made to their respective communities.
The two Hillsboro business were nominated for the award by Hillsboro Development Corp.
Circle D Corp. began manufacturing livestock and flatbed trailers in 1987.
The company markets its products through distributors located primarily in the western states.
About 90 percent of its sales are outside of the state.
Since its inception, Circle D has supported the Hillsboro community. Members of the management team have served on the Hillsboro City Council and the local hospital board of directors as well as participating in civic, school and church activities.

Elcon Services Inc. is the largest electrical contractor in Hillsboro and Marion County. The majority of its work is commercial, industrial and oilfield related.
Begun in 1963 as a general partnership, Elcon Services Inc. was incorporated in 1971. It currently employs more than a dozen people.
?Elcon?s expertise in the electrical services industry, along with the quality of service offered, has resulted in significant growth in their business over the past five years,? Seibel said.
The company is constructing a 7,500-square-foot warehouse and office complex in the Hills?boro Heights development to accommodate its growth.
Elcon Services Inc. personnel have served on the Marion County Fair board and Main Street Ministries board.
