Tabor Drama Dept. to present ‘Lost in Yonkers’ March 6-7

The Tabor College Drama Department will present the play ?Lost in Yonkers? at 7:30 p.m., March 6, 7 and 8 in the Theater Lab located on the first floor of the H.W. Lohrenz Building at the main campus in Hillsboro.

The public is invited to attend.

?Lost in Yonkers? revolves around brothers Jay and Arty and the quirky Kurnitz family of Yonkers, N.Y.

The year is 1942 and the boys? widower father, Eddie, has persuaded iron-clad Grandma Kurnitz to take in his young sons so he can travel to earn money for his family.

In Grandma?s home are Aunt Bella, simple and child-like, Uncle Louie, a small-time gangster, and nervous Aunt Gert, who forgets to stop talking when she breathes in.

The conflict between these eccentric characters and Grandma brings humor to the play, as each member of the family struggles to survive old wounds from their childhood in Yonkers.

?Tabor?s Theater Lab is an ideal setting for an entertaining evening with this timeless play and its fun-loving cast,? said director Judy Harder, associate professor of communications and drama.

The cast for ?Lost in Yonkers? includes: Shane Miller (Jay), Hutchinson; Dan Sigley (Arty), Spokane, Wash.; Aaron Miller (Eddie), Hillsboro; Tasheena Ruzinksy (Aunt Bella), Hillsboro; Danae Warkentin (Grandma Kurnitz), Corn, Okla.; David Campbell (Uncle Louie), Wichita; and Alicia Hendricks (Aunt Gert), Ramah, Colo.

Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students. Seating is limited. Call the Student Development Office at 620 947-3121 Ext. 1033.
