In addition to Countryside Feed LLC, two other entities in Hillsboro are among the 188 businesses to be recognized by the Kansas Department of Commerce as part of its Business Appreciation Month.
KDOC named 28 Regional Business Excellence Award winners and 151 Merit Award winners.
Tabor College Inc. and The Lumberyard were Merit Award winners. Tabor College was included in the category called ?Hospital/Non-Profit? and The Lumberyard in the ?Retail? category.
Both were nominated for recognition by the Hillsboro Development Corp.
?We nominated Tabor because of its 125th anniversary and thought they deserved recognition as one of the largest employers in our community.

Three nominated businesses, including Countryside Feed, were picked as finalists have been named finalists for the Governor?s Award of Excellence?one of the two top award given to a business by the state.
Five businesses were selected as finalists for the other top award, Exporter of the Year.
