With family and friends applauding, dozens of cancer survivors communicated a message of hope during the annual ?Survivor Walk? to officially start the Marion County Relay for Life Friday evening. Threatening weather in the morning prompted organizers to move the all-night event from the Marion High School Stadium to inside the high school?s new athletic center. Twenty-two teams participated in this year?s event, raising more than $49,500 for the American Cancer Society?s research, education, advocacy and service programs.
