Project intended to increase interest in fair quilt division

Charlene Driggers, Diane Claassen and Mary Lancaster (from left) review some of the fat quarters that are being prepared to encourage greater participation in the Marion County Fair Quilt Division. The Country Stitchers Quilt Guild is working together with Jamie Peters and the fair board to promote the quilt challenge in 2011. Fat quarters will be for sale this week in the Commercial Building at the fairgrounds. The purchaser is encouraged to take the fat quarter home and use it to design a quilt piece to enter in to the 2011 fair. This event also will celebrate the 125th birthday of Kansas in 2011.
