Prairie View Inc. adds clinical staff

Prairie View Inc. has added Jean Anderson, Sara Friesen, Carri Kliewer and Emily Sauber to its clinical staff.<p>Jean Anderson is a licensed specialist clinical social worker, and works with adults 18 years of age and older at Prairie View’s East Wichita office, located at 9333 E. 21st St. North.<p>“From a young age, I have been able to assist individuals in identifying their strengths by connecting with them and assisting them to reach their fullest potential,” Anderson said.<p>Some of Anderson’s treatment specialties include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress management, relationship issues, and grief and loss.<p>She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her master in social work from Newman University.

<p>Sara Friesen, APRN, provides medication services to adults, also at Prairie View’s East Wichita Office.<p>She earned her undergraduate degree at South­western College, and her master’s degree from Wichita State University. She is board certified with ANCC, and comes to Prairie View with more than 30 years of experience.<p>“I believe people are not their illness—each individual has a unique story to share,” said Friesen, who has been recognized by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), at both the local and state levels, as “Provider of the Year” for her high-quality, patient-centered care and establishing genuine relationships with vulnerable populations, as well as strengthening the community’s awareness of mental illness.

<p>Carri Kliewer, PA-C, believes “it is very rewarding when you see patients able to participate in life again, and to see the impact on families when patients improve.”<p>Kliewer is a psychiatric physician assistant at Prairie View’s Newton and West Wichita locations. She formulates and initiates treatment plans for medication management for adolescents, adults and older adults on an outpatient basis.<p>She earned her undergraduate degree from Tabor College, her master’s from Emporia State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Wichita State Univer­sity. Kliewer comes to Prairie View with over 15 years of experience as a psychiatric physician assistant.<p>Prairie View-Newton is located at 1901 E. First St. Prairie View’s West Wichita office is located at 7570 W. 21st Street North, Suite 1026-D.

<p>Emily Sauber is a licensed marriage and family therapist, and provides outpatient clinical therapy to children, adolescents and adults at Prairie View-McPherson, located at 1102 Hospital Drive.<p>She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Wichita State University, and her master’s of marriage and family therapy from Friends University.<p>“I hope that my clients can see the strength, resilience, and courage I see in each of them,” Sauber said. “I hope that my clients will experience a kind, calm, caring, understanding and non-judgmental presence.
