Patrons of the Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center can stay cool and support the Main Street Ministries food bank at the same time on Sunday, Aug. 1.
Pool staff will be accepting a minimum donation of two nonperishable food items in lieu of the usual $3 admission fee, according to Marci Cain, pool manager. Or, patrons can designate their usual $3 admission fee to support the food bank.
Cain said the idea was suggested by lifeguard Amanda Faber.
?I encouraged her to present it to the city (leaders), and they were enthused about it,? Cain said.
The pool will be open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
