Need a lift?

Walkway CraneCooperative Grain & Supply hired a crane and operating crew to lift the catwalk to the top of its newest grain silo Friday morning in Hillsboro. Battling the Kansas wind, crews coordinated their efforts to elevate the catwalk from the ground to the top of the old grain elevator and then maneuver it over to the top of the new silo, where it was firmly secured. The new 300,000-bushel McPherson grain silo is in the final stage of preparation. But with the corn harvest in full swing, CG&S is again unloading grain in the open bunker to the west of the elevators and silos for the time being.
