Hillsboro Community Foundation, established to promote and facilitate charitable giving in support of projects and programs that enhance the quality of life in Hillsboro, is launching its 2016 grant cycle.
HCF manages over $1.6 million in various funds. In 2015, 11 local projects and programs grant money through the HCF compet?i?tive grant cycle. Grants presented from HCF funds total more than $50,000 this year. Since 2010, HCF has awarded more than $240,000 to the local community.
Steve Noble, president of the HCF board, voiced his appreciation and enthusiasm about the fund?s support.
?The community endowment continues to grow because of local investment,? he said. ?We just cannot say enough about local citizens investing in Hills?boro?s future.?
Completed funding requests are due by 5 p.m. Jan. 4, 2016.
Projects and programs must be for a charitable or civic purpose. Qualified applicants must possess a 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Service code, be exempt under statute?for example, educational institution, church, a city or county?or be formally linked to an organization with such designation.
Grants will be awarded at the Hills?boro High School basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 26.
