Hillsboro Ford Inc. is celebrating 50 years of ownership under the Hagen family this year.
The local dealership received the 50th Year Continual Family Owned Dealership award from Ford Motor Co. in July.
The Hagen legacy began in April 1964 when Allen Hagen applied to become a Ford dealer and joined what was then Albert Reimer Motors as part owner.
In 1977, the dealership was renamed Hillsboro Ford, and has been operating as a full service dealership since.
Following in their father?s footsteps, sons Randy and Terry joined the Hillsboro Ford team during the mid 1980s. The brothers are now co-owners of the dealership.
?We are honored to receive this award and proud of what it means for our family,? said Randy Hagen. ?My brother and I work hard to continue the low-pressure, family environment our father helped develop and are looking forward to serving our community for the next 50 years.?
The family environment is something in which the Hagen brothers take pride. They are two of the many people at Hillsboro Ford who have been employed there for more than three decades.
?The staff really does feel like family after all these years,? said Terry Hagen. ?We keep the phrase, ?Where service makes the difference,? in mind at all times, and it seems to resonate pretty well with both our staff and our customers.?
