CG&S, Ampride and Land O’Lakes donate to area food banks

Cooperative Grain & Supply and the Ampride stores in Hillsboro and Marion, as participants with the Land O’Lakes Foundation “Feeding our Communities” program, distributed checks totaling $5,444 among four area food banks. The program provides matching funds from the foundation to encourage local co-ops to donate funds to area food banks. Pictured in the front row are (from left), Linda Ewert, representing the Goessel Ministerial Alliance food pantry located at Tabor Mennonite Church; Karen Sites (director) and Mary Steketee (board member) from Main Street Ministries; and Laura Legg, manager of the two Ampride stores. Pictured in the back row are Kevin Suderman, CG&S board member; Ron Sommerfeld, representing the Canton Ministerial Alliance; and Gerry Henderson, representing the Marion Resource Center & Food Bank. This is the sixth consecutive year CG&S and Land O’Lakes have donated to area food banks. CG&S has participated in Land O’Lakes’ Helping Rural Communities since 2004 with more than $79,270 given to help area communities.
