Carol Duerksen, Hillsboro author, will be hosting a book signing at her farm home, 1582 Falcon, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5.
Joining her will be the other co-authors of their new devotional book, ?Now It Springs Up,? Michele Hershberger and Laurie Oswald Robinson, as well as Nancy Miller, Goessel, who designed the cover.
?Now It Springs Up? is a year-long devotional book recently released by Willow?Spring Downs, a publishing company owned by Duerksen and husband Maynard Knepp.
Hershberger, Robinson and Duerksen each contributed a third of the devotions for the book, which is available at Thee Bookstore in Hillsboro.
?The idea of adding the writing of 122 devotionals to our already crazy lives seemed outrageous at first,? Duerksen said. ?But we all felt a strong call?a ?text message? from God, if you will?to do this book.
?We trust and pray that the same Holy Spirit who called and sat with us at our computers will also sit with the readers in their devotional times.?
The public is invited to the authors? homes for refreshments, a $3 discount on each book, and the opportunity to have all three authors sign the books.
In addition to the open house at the Duerksen/Knepp farm, Hershberger will host one at her home at 300 Main in Hesston from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5.
Robinson will host an open house from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at her home, 3 Grove Court, in Newton.
