HFD Grain DrillMembers of the Hillsboro and Lehigh fire departments, plus employees from Cooperative Grain & Supply, participated Saturday in ?grain engulfment rescue training? provided through the University of Kansas. Participants spent the morning in a classroom learning basic procedures when a person becomes sucked down in a grain bin.

After lunch, the group met at the CG&S elevators in Hillsboro to watch and participate in live demonstrations of the equipment and techniques.HFD Grain DrillIn the photo at right, KU training personnel set up the traveling workshop.
