County students excel on auto test

Auto-Tech-2.jpg James Goerzen (left) of Goessel High School and Brad Slayden of Hillsboro High School placed first and third, respectively, in the Pratt Community College Automotive Contest Feb. 13. Each of the 55 participants took a 113-question timed automotive test. By winning first place, James received a full scholarship to the PCC automotive program; Slayden received a $500 scholarship for third place. Their instructor is Cory Unruh, who teaches automotive technology through Newton High School.
