4-H News (April 15, 2009)

n Goessel Goal Getters held its monthly meeting April 6 in the Goessel Grade School gym. The roll call was ?Name a way you felt responsible in the past month.?

All together, 54 people showed up at the meeting, which was a great number of attendance. An announcement of interest was the state 4-H camp would be held soon.

As with every year, the club voted if we should give every member that wanted to go to camp a scholarship of about half the total cost.

Once the motion passed, we also learned the deadline for adding or dropping projects would be May 1.

The program for this meeting was learning about another ?Character Counts? pillar: Responsibility. After a skit of how you can be responsible, we had our monthly talks.

This meeting?s talks were ?5 Must Do?s While Taking Pictures? by Bruce Benjamin, ?Making an After-School Snack? by Jayce Schmidt, ?How to Make No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies? by Hannah Bartel, ?It?s a Cinch!? by Mikayla Lare, and ?Perfect Smores Bars? by Alyssa Booton.

For our recreation, led by Heath Goertzen, we played the ?23 Game.? It was a lot like the game Car Lot, except you had to count to 23 to save other people. After that, and after we sang ?Happy Birthday? to everyone who had an April birthday, the meeting was over.
