Paul Penner, Hillsboro wheat producer and vice president of Kansas Wheat Growers Association, talks about this year?s harvest with members of a trade delegation from South Africa late last week. The five-member delegation, hosted by Kansas Wheat?s chief executive officer Dusti Fritz, included executives from the nation's major grain millers, processors and bakers, along with U.S. Wheat Associates' South African trade representative. Due to rainy weather that morning, cutting did not resume until later that day?after the team left to tour another region in Kansas. The team also stopped at Cooperative Grain & Supply Inc. in Hillsboro to observe the unloading and sampling of a load of wheat Penner brought in that morning. Lyman Adams, CG&S general manager, met with the trade team during the stop. Penner said the team members indicated they were generally impressed by the quality and appearance of this year's crop.
