Rare birth of triplets arrive at Nikkel cattle operation

Triplet calves, shown with their mother in this photo, were born Tuesday, Jan. 26, to an Angus cow in the Jon and Ted Nikkel cattle operation. The three female calves were born unassisted in the winter pasture and all have survived, are healthy and doing well, Ted said. The mother cow is claiming all three and is taking good care of them. According to the Nikkel family, this kind of occurrence happens 1 in 105,000 births.
