Farmers and landowners have until Nov. 15 to apply for the Environmental Qual?ity Incentives Program offered through the Natural Resources Conservation Service.<p>EQIP is a voluntary program that provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers who want help to plan and implement conservation practices through contracts up to a maximum term of 10 years.<p>The contracts address opportunities to improve soil, water, plant, animal, air and related resources on agricultural land, such as cropland and rangeland and non-industrial private forestland. <p>NRCS has provided more than $26 million in financial assistance for fiscal year 2013 to help Kansas producers implement such practices through EQIP.?? <p>The Marion County field office can be contacted at 620-382-3737 or by stopping by at 303 Eisenhower in Marion. <p>More information about EQIP also is available on the Kansas NRCS website at ks.nrcs.usda.gov/programs.
