Corps of Engineers to explain lake fluctuation plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to review a proposed lake level fluctuation plan for Marion Reservoir.

The public meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Marion Reservoir Project Office, 2105 Pawnee Road, Marion.

The purpose of the water fluctuation plan is to enhance fishing and hunting opportunities and to control blue-green algae blooms.

The proposal is sponsored by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. If implemented, the plan would take effect in October.

For more information, or for questions regarding the meeting, call the Corps of Engineers office at 620-382-2101.
