4-H News (February 3, 2016)

? The Livewires-Empire Best 4-H Club was called to order Jan. 17 at the Galva Community Room in Galva by president Reed Wiens.

Members answered roll call with their favorite winter activity. Business discussion focused on serving a meal for Loaves and Fishes in McPherson on Feb. 14 with the Good Luck 4-H Club. Members were reminded that County Club Days will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 20, and entries are due at the extension office by Feb. 1.

Five members presented talks: Reed Wiens on his trip to Leadership Council; Lane McMannis on types of hay, Faith McMannis on making suncatchers, Camden Kruse on breeds of beef cattle, and Lane Wiens on the benefits of 4-H.

Isom Marston led the club in a musical chairs game, and the Marston family provided refreshments. The next meeting will be Feb. 14 after the Loaves and Fishes meal.
