• The Live Wires-Empire Best 4-H Club met Feb. 12 at the McPherson 4-H Building. The meeting was a joint meeting with Country Cousins after both clubs served walking tacos for Loaves and Fishes.
The meeting was called to order by President Reed Wiens. The Flag Salute and 4-H Pledge were then recited.
The officers report and the treasurer report given by Sage Toews. Birthday chairman Bren Kruse announced that Conner Koehn had a birthday Feb. 3 and Reed Weins will have a birthday Feb. 18.
Participants from Club Days were recognized and given their awards and ribbons. Faith McMannis received champion for her Demonstration/Illustrated Talk. Other participants were Reed Wiens, Isom Marston (top blue), Breck Smith (blue), Lane McMannis (blue) Hunter Koehn (blue).
A judging team consisting of Isom Marston, Jase Beltz and two members of Country Cousins where recognized and awarded.
The program consisted of Faith McMannis, with a talk about horse care and riding, and Blain Smith with a demonstration on how to rope a dummy. Katy Prieb, song and recreation leader, led the club in a chant that club members sing at 4-H camp.
