Workers from Maguire Iron Inc. in South Dakota were in Hillsboro Friday, Nov. 6 to replace the lid and top two rings of the city’s small water tower. The lid was blown off in a windstorm more than a year ago.The repair project will cost $289,140, but because the tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the city received a Heritage Grant of $103,000 to offset some of the expense.
