The Goessel volleyball team will be the No. 1 seed in the Class 1A, Division I sub-state hosted by Peabody-Burns Saturday. The Bluebirds (35-1) will have a first-round bye, and will face the winner of the 2 p.m. matchup between No. 4 Peabody-Burns (6-21) and No. 5 Burlingame (4-22).
The other half of the bracket features No. 2 Rural Vista (17-15) and No. 3 Centre (8-20), each with first-round byes.
Semifinal matches will begin 20 minutes after the conclusion of the quarterfinal round.
