TC volleyball defeats McPherson, advances to KCAC semi-finals

The Bluejays held off McPherson tonight in the KCAC quarterfinals to advance to the semi-finals and improve their record to 19-10 overall and 15-4 in the conference.

Tabor started off strong, getting an easy win in Game 1, 25-18. They gave away some points, though, on bad serves and silly mistakes, and it came back to bite them in the next two games.

The Bulldogs rallied in the second game and challenged Tabor to the last few points. But Bluejay mainstay Tina Frick pounded the kill home for the 25-23 win.

Game 3 was almost all McPherson, with Tabor trailing most of the game and losing, 20-25.

But the fourth game the Bluejays seemed to regain their stride a bit and they held the lead by a narrow margin the majority of play time. They survived a late Bulldog surge to clinch the match win, 25-22.

They are slated to play in the semi-finals Friday.
