Tabor volleyball loses at Bethany

The Bluejays lost to the KCAC leaders in three game Thursday, 12-30, 25-30, 16-30.

Including Tuesday's loss at K-W (21-30, 27-30, 20-30), Tabor has gone 0-2 this week and now sits at 8-5 in conference play. Bethany improved to 12-1 and maintained its lead on K-W (11-1 pending results at Sterling) and Bethel (9-3 pending results at Friends).

?Bethel grabbed the lead for good at 4-3 in the first game and limited the Bluejays to just 9 points the rest of the way. Tabor showed stronger in the second game, taking a 3-2 lead and building that advantage into a 17-11 margin. But Bethany came roaring back behind the serving of Lisa Runnebaum, who began her rotation trailing 19-12 and ended up giving the Swedes a 23-20 lead. The Bluejays stayed close, pulling within 28-25 on a sharp spike by Taylor Lawrence.? But Bethany's senior setter Kelli Noonan closed out the game on her service, and Tabor scarcely threatened in the third game.

?Tabor's next game is a home contest against Bethel on Monday.
