Tabor men suffer overtime loss to Doane

The Tabor College men’s basketball team opened the Hastings Classic with a 100-95 overtime loss to Doane Friday.

The Bluejays outscored Doane 40-33 in the first half, but the Tigers evened the score by the end of regulation, outscoring Tabor 51-44 in the second half. The teams headed to overtime locked at 84 points each.

Doane scored 16 points to Tabor’s 11 in overtime to earn the win.

Tabor shot 44 percent from the field (38-for-86). Doane shot 47 percent (32-for-68).

Lance Carter led the Bluejays with 24 points and 18 rebounds. Julian Winton scored 20 points, Davaghndre Jones 15 and Alan Urrutia 12.

The Bluejays will play Hastings Saturday at 6 p.m.
