The Tabor men?s team fared better than the women?s team in tonight?s contest with Southwestern, beating the Builders 73-56 and improving the Bluejays? season record to 11-5.
The Bluejays took a slight lead early on and held off the Builders by only three points, 12-9, with 13:30 left in the first half. The Builders refused to concede, however. They fought back and narrowed the lead to 19-18 with only 7:30 left in the first half.
At halftime the Builders rallied enough to pull ahead of the Bluejays 27-26 heading in to the locker room.
Unfortunately for the Builders, Tabor came out strong after halftime and regained the lead, extending it to ten points. The Bluejays led 41-31 with 13:30 remaining in the second half. Tabor?s Bluejays continued to pull away as the second half progressed, improving their lead to 60-42 with only 7:30 left in the second half.
The Tabor Bluejays went on to defeat the Builders by seventeen points on their home court, with a final score of 73-56.
Southwestern handed the Tabor Bluejays a disappointing loss on the hardwood tonight, beating them 76-58 and bringing the Bluejays? season record to 7-10.
The Builders took an early lead, topping the Bluejays 13-6 with 12:31 left in the first half. The Bluejays fought back and scored seven more points, but the Builders continued to increase their lead to 27-13 with 4:20 left in the half. The Bluejays rallied a bit toward the end of the half, closing the point gap to fourteen points, but the Builders still led 39-25 at halftime.
The Builders came on strong out of the locker room, increasing their lead to 25 points with 13:30 left in the second half. The Bluejays continued to fight back, whittling down the Builders? lead to 22 points at 61-39 with a little over seven minutes left in the game.
However, the Bluejays were unable to make up the deficit and fell to the Southwestern Builders by 18 points, with a final score of 76-58.
