The Tabor basketball teams swept Bethel Thursday night. The Bluejay women won, 64-44, while the men gained a 90-78 victory.
WOMEN?The Tabor women were never threatened en route to a 20-point victory over Bethel Thursday.
The Bluejays surged to a 7-0 lead, and enjoyed a double-digit, 14-4, advantage at the 14:29 mark. Tabor extended its lead to 33-9 with 5:06 left before halftime, and led, 33-14, at the break.
Nikki Lewis made a three-point basket with 15:59 left in the game for a 45-24 Tabor margin. Lewis made two more three-pointers for a 51-27 Bluejay lead at 11:54.
The Bluejays led, 64-32, after two Rust free-throws with 5:51 left in the game, and Tabor cruised to victory.
Tonisha Dean and Zuercher led Tabor with a game-high 13 points apiece. Rust added 11.
With the win, Tabor improved to 2-1 in the KCAC, 5-6 overall.
MEN?The Tabor men defeated Bethel, 90-78. The Bluejays enjoyed a 40-35 advantage at halftime, and outscored the Threshers 50-43 in the second half to claim the victory.
Dewayne Biggs led the Tabor attack with a game-high 24 points. Andrew Thomas added 15, Lance Carter 13 and Robbie Samuel 11. Carter had a double-double with 10 rebounds.
With the win, Tabor improved to 2-1 in the KCAC, 6-5 overall.
