Sub-state pairings for Canton-Galva, Centre, Goessel, Peabody-Burns announced

Sub-state pairings for Canton-Galva, Centre, Goessel and Peabody-Burns have been released.

Canton-Galva?The Eagle girls (10-10) have received the No. 5 seed in the Class 2A sub-state hosted by Claflin-Central Plains. Canton-Galva will travel to No. 4 Lincoln (12-8) Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.

The winner will face either No. 1 Ellinwood (19-1) or No. 8 Little River (1-19) Friday at Claflin.

The other half of the bracket pits No. 2 Claflin-Central Plains (19-1) against No. 7 Ell-Saline (5-14) and No. 3 Smith Center (13-7) against No. 6 Plainville (7-13).

The championship is set for March 7 at 6 p.m. at Claflin.

The Eagle boys are the No. 6 seed with a 9-11 record and will travel to No. 3 Lincoln (11-9)?Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The winner will face either No. 2 Ellinwood (12-8) or No. 7 Ell-Saline (8-11) Thursday at Claflin.

On the other half of the bracket, No. 1 Claflin-Central Plains (17-3) hosts No. 8 Smith Center (6-13) and No. 4 Little River (11-9) hosts No. 5 Plainville (9-11).

Centre?The Centre girls (16-3) have received the No. 2 seed in the Class 1A-Division I sub-state hosted by Rosalia Flinthills and will have a first-round bye. The Cougars will face the winner of No. 3 Rural Vista (12-7) and No. 6 Burrton (5-14) Thursday at Rosalia.

On the other half of the bracket, No. 1 Goessel (17-3)?has a first-round bye and will face the winner of No. 4 Rosalia-Flinthills (11-8) and No. 5 Pretty Prairie (8-12) Thursday. The championship will be played March 7 at 6 p.m. at Rosalia.

The Centre boys (2-17) are the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 Pretty Prairie (8-12)?Tuesday at Rosalia. Tip-off is 6 p.m. The winner will face No. 2 Rural Vista Friday.

The other half of the bracket features No. 1 Burrton (11-8) with a first-round bye, who will face the winner of No. 4 Rosalia-Flinthills (6-13) and No. 5 Goessel (6-14). The championship is slated for March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Rosalia.

Goessel?The girls (17-3) are the No. 1 seed in the Class 1A-Division I sub-state hosted by Rosalia-Flinthills and have a first-round bye. The Bluebirds will face the winner of No. 4 Rosalia-Flinthills (11-8) and No. 5 Pretty Prairie (8-12) Thursday at Rosalia.

On the other half of the bracket, No. 2 Centre (16-3)?has a first-round bye and will face either No. 3 Rural Vista (12-7) or No. 6 Burrton (5-14)?Thursday. The championship is set for March 7 at 6 p.m.

The boys (6-14)?are the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 Rosalia-Flinthills (6-13) Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game. The winner will take on No. 1 Burrton (11-8)?Friday.

The other half of the bracket features No. 2 Rural Vista (8-11)?with a first-round bye. The Heat will face the winner of No. 3 Pretty Prairie (8-12) and No. 6 Centre (2-17) Friday. The championship will be played March 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Peabody-Burns?The girls (3-17) are the No. 8 seed in the Class 2A sub-state hosted by Inman and will travel to No. 1 Moundridge (18-2) Monday for a 6 p.m. game. The winner will face either No. 4 Berean Academy (12-8)?and No. 5 Inman (10-10) Friday.

On the other half of the bracket, No. 2 Coldwater-South Central (15-5) hosts No. 7 Greensburg-Kiowa County (8-11) and No. 3 St. John-Hudson (14-5) hosts No. 6 Medicine Lodge (9-11). The championship will be played March 7 at 6 p.m. at Inman.

The boys (9-11)?are the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 Moundridge (13-7) Monday at 7:30 p.m. The winner will face either No. 1 St. John-Hudson (19-0) or No. 8 Medicine Lodge (5-15) Thursday.

On the other half of the bracket, No. 2 Berean Academy (17-3) hosts No. 7 Inman (6-14) and No. 3 Coldwater-South Central (16-4) hosts No. 6 Greensburg-Kiowa County (7-12). The championship is slated for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Inman.
