The office of Marion County Sheriff Robert Craft has released a preliminary account of an accident Friday at 120th and Indigo, seven miles south of Hillsboro, after which Sharon Chamberlain, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. Donald Chamberlain, 61, was driving northbound on the "13-mile road" with his wife, when a southbound sport utility vehicle driven by Chelsea Reiswig, 23, slid sideways in front of them. The Chamberlains' car struck the passenger side of the SUV. Donald Chamberlain was transported to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro EMS and was later transferred to Wichita. Chelsea Reiswig was transported to Newton Medical Center by Peabody EMS. The report also noted that at the time of the accident?approximately 1:27 p.m. March 27?the road was "ice covered and extremely slick."
