Sterling beat Bluejays 47-21

The Tabor College football team trailed by 41 points with nine minutes
left in the third quarter and suffered a 47-21 loss at Sterling
Saturday. The Bluejays totaled 191 yards of offense and scored on
rushing touchdowns by Derek Washington and Joey Erickson. Late in the
fourth quarter, Chris Sanborn scooped up a fumble inside the Bethany
15-yard line and scored.

But little went well for the Bluejays early in the game. Tabor lost the
opening kickoff on a fumble in their own red zone, and trailed 20-0 by
the end of the first quarter.

Tabor (0-6) hosts Bethel (1-5) next week. Southwestern (1-5) defeated
Bethany (4-2) today, making Tabor the last remaining winless team in
the conference.
