Sub-state seedings have been announced for the Class 2A sub-state tournament hosted by Berean Academy. The tournament involves three schools in the Free Press distribution area: Hillsboro, Canton-Galva and Peabody-Burns.
GIRLS? BRACKET
Hillsboro (15-5) will be the fifth seed in a tournament that includes four state-ranked teams — Sterling (3), Moundridge (4), Hillsboro (9) and Remington (10). The Trojans and Little River have identical season records, but the Redskins won the coin flip to be the fourth seed. As a result, the Trojans will play its first-round game at 7 p.m. Monday at Little River.
Meanwhile, the teams from Canton-Galva (5-15) and Peabody-Burns (2-18) will match up at 1 p.m. Saturday for a play-in game to determine the bracket?s No. 8 seed in the nine-school field. The winner will take on No. 1 Sterling (18-2), at 7 p.m. Monday in Sterling.

BOYS? BRACKET
Hillsboro (17-3) is the No. 2 seed behind the host team from Berean (17-2). The Trojans will host seventh-seeded Peabody-Burns (6-14) in the first round at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
Sixth-seeded Canton-Galva (6-14) will travel to No. 3 Moundridge Monday for a first-round game that will begin at 7 p.m.
The seedings for the nine schools are: 1. Berean (17-2), 2. Hillsboro (17-3), 3. Moundridge (16-4), 4. Little River (16-4), 5. Inman (11-9), 6. Canton-Galva (6-14), 7. Peabody-Burns (6-14), 8. Sterling (3-17), 9. Remington (1-18).
