Unified School District 410 Board of Education voted Monday evening to appoint Joe Sechrist to serve as board member in Position 2 through June 30, 2011.
The board had advertized the position and both Sechrist and Kimberly Jost applied for the open position. They were interviewed by the board at the meeting.
?It?s a breath of fresh air to have two quality candidates apply to serve on the board,? said board member Rod Koons.
The board voted unanimously for Sechrist, who is employed as a counselor at Allison Magnet Middle School in Wichita school district.
