The regional tournament seedings are in for the Marion and Hillsboro softball and baseball teams.
SOFTBALL—Marion (14-6), the No. 1 seed, will receive a bye in the first round. The No. 4 Trojans (10-10) will square off against the Canton-Galva Eagles (7-11) at 4:30 p.m. May 14 in Galva. If the Trojans win, they will play Marion in the semifinal game at 3 p.m. May 15.
On the other half of the bracket, Chase County (14-6) received a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed. The Bulldogs will play the winner of Moundridge (13-7) and Inman (5-15) in a semifinal game at 4:30 p.m. May 15. The championship game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. May 15 in Galva.
BASEBALL—Marion (18-2) is the No. 1 seed in the Class 3A regional hosted by Lyons. The Warriors will play No. 8 Lyons (0-20) in the first round at 4:30 p.m. in Marion, while No. 4 Hillsboro (11-9) will play No. 5 Minneapolis (9-11) at 5 p.m. at Hillsboro.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Southeast of Saline (15-5) will play at home against No. 7 Lincoln/Sylvan-Lucas (3-15) at 4:30 p.m. May 14. No. 3 Beloit (9-7) will play No. 6 Ellsworth/Wilson (6-12) at Beloit at 5 p.m.
The semifinal games between the winners of round one is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Lyons. The winners of those games will play for the regional championship 5 p.m. at Lyons.
