The seedings and pairings have been released for the Class 3A sub-state volleyball tournament Saturday (Oct. 24) at Sedgwick.
Hillsboro (26-8) is the No. 2 seed and Marion (24-10) is No. 3 in the eight-team field, so the two schools could meet in the semifinals of the single-elimination tournament.
The Trojans will open play against No. 7 Lyons (8-25) at about 3 p.m. while the Warriors will follow at around 4 p.m. against No. 6 Southeast of Saline (9-23). The winners of those two matches will play at around 6 p.m. with the finals set for around 7 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 Remington (28-8) will open against No. 8 Sterling (6-30) at 1 p.m. No. 4 Sedgwick (23-12) will take on No. 5 Halstead (12-21) at about 2 p.m. The winners of those two matches will meet in the semifinals at about 5 p.m.
The only certain starting time is the 1 p.m. start for the first match. Succeeding matches will begin 20 minutes after the completion of the previous match.
