Marion No. 3 seed at Class 3A regional in Council Grove

The Marion baseball team will open play at the Class 3A regional tournament hosted by Council Grove Monday, May 18, with a 6 p.m. game against Central Heights (4-14). Marion (14-7) is seeded third in the six-team tournament while Central Heights is seeded sixth (4-14).

The winner of that game will play in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Council Grove (18-2), the No. 2 seed.

All games will be played at Soden?s Grove Baseball Field in Emporia

On the other side of the bracket, No. 4 Osage City (10-8) and No. 5 Pamona-West Franklin (10-8) will square off in a first-round game at 6 p.m. Monday. The winner will then take on top-seeded, Burlington (17-1) in the semifinals Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Admission to the tournament is $4 per K-12 student and $5 per adult.
