Marion holds on against Moundridge, 21-20

Marion quarterback Cole Lewman scored his third rushing touchdown of the game with 2:41 left on the clock to help Marion secure a 21-20 victory against Moundridge. The Warriors improved to 4-0 on the season.

In by far its closest game of the season, Marion used a staunch defense and Lewman touchdown runs of 21, 12 and five yards to earn the victory. However, after Lewman?s third score of the game, which made it 21-14, the win was not secured. Moundridge senior tailback Trey Unrau rushed for a 47-yard touchdown with 1:03 left to cut the lead to 21-20. The Warrior defensive line thwarted a 2-point attempt by the Wildcats. Lewman recovered the ensuing onside kick to make the victory official. Lewman finished with 103 rushing yards for the game.

The undefeated Warriors (4-0) travel to Sedgwick next week to take on the Cardinals.
