The Hillsboro volleyball team will be the No. 2 seed at the Class 3A sub-state tournament Saturday, Oct. 23, at Council Grove. Marion (14-19) is seeded fourth.
The Trojans (27-10) will take on the home-town Braves (No. 7, 9-23) at 2 p.m. The winner of that match will play the winner of Hutch Trinity F(No. 3, 16-17) and Southeast of Saline (No. 6, 11-23) in the semifinals.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seeded Burlington (29-7) will play No. 8 Sterling (5-27), with the winner taking on the winner of Marion and No. 5 Lyons (12-23) in the semifinals.
The winner of the single-elimination tournament will advance to the state tournament in Salina the following Friday.
