The Hillsboro and Marion softball teams will be the top two seeds at the Class 3A regional tournament hosted by Marion next week.
The top-seeded Trojans (19-1) will receive a bye in Monday?s first round, then will take on the winner of Monday?s game between No. 4 Sedgwick (7-11) and No. 5 Halstead (5-15) at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Marion (13-6) will play No. 7 Hesston (4-16) at 6 p.m. Monday. The victor will take on the winner of Monday?s 4:30 p.m. game between No. 3 Council Grove (10-10) and No. 6 Remington (4-13) in a semifinals matchup at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The championship game is schedule for a 6 p.m. start Tuesday at the Marion softball field.
Admission to the tournament is $4 per K-12 student and $5 per adult.
